One of the perks in my current season of life, and with taking on limited weddings each Summer, is that I really get to be present and soak up each one. I remember all too well the feeling of back-to-back-to-back and go-go-go. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I thrived on the adrenaline and always delivered, but there’s just something so nice for the soul to be able to appreciate each special day I’m asked to capture at a slower pace now.
Amanda and Dara’s wedding was especially lovely. First off, back-yard weddings are my favourite. I love the vibe, I love the outdoors, I love the pace. I also really like not having to coordinate parking and multiple location changes, haha! But Langley back-yard weddings are truly proving to carve out a special place in my heart. This couple gathered their close family and friends onto a beautiful estate for a private, intimate, yet also SO GORGEOUS wedding. It sounds “cliche” but these two were truly so clearly in love. The little looks they gave each other and their shared desire to just be with their family and just enjoy their friends was so lovely. Sure the nerves and excitement were there, but there was also such a joy and calm surrounding their day as well. <3
