“We don’t mind a little rain.”  This is music to a photographer’s ears when you live and work on the rainy West Coast of Canada and everyone wants photos right as the season changes into a wet, soggy, winter.  There is that brief window of my favourite season – Fall – where the days are cool enough for layers and cute sweaters, but dry enough to still enjoy being outdoors.  However, there are only so many precious days like that and so many wonderful families to document!  This family and I were texting each other by 6:45am in the morning as we both looked out our windows and at our apps.  We saw a one-hour break in the downpour, so we hustled, jumped in our cars with coffee (and donuts as a reward for the kids), and did the world’s fastest family shoot!  We shot for about 25-30 mins in just a sprinkle and then the skies opened up right as we were getting back into our cars.  But honestly, I love these photos.  The smooth even lighting and slight fog of an overcast day against the pop of yellow and neutral colours in their outfits is perfect and you would never know that the conditions were less than ideal <3.  Here are a few favourites from their gallery:

Hi! I’m Laura, a coffee-loving, outgoing introvert with a passion for motherhood and photography. This blog is an extension of who I am. I’m a mommy to three little boys, and I love to create and write. I’m also loud, tend to over share, and am a type-A personality in the extreme. I’m a little pensive and can be a lot sarcastic.  I believe that motherhood is something more than just to be survived! This is both a space where I share glimpses into my business and the photo shoots I do, and also my personal space to just write about whatever is on my heart. So grab a cup of coffee, come stay for a while and let’s get to know each other. 🙂
