I shoot more outdoors than in studio, but I love a good cake smash for the following reasons:

1. I love babies (obviously since I have three of them 2 and under right now!).

2. I love sugar and the kid never eats it all. Also, when you’re a mom, sharing someone else’s smushed up cake isn’t gross – I promise.

3. I almost always buy balloons for a backdrop since I keep my props simple and it gives my kids and my clients’ kids things to play with for DAYS.

4. The expressions! Again, babies are the best.

But guys, there’s one more reason I love cake smashes.

5. Sibling fun!
