These two shared some of the deepest wisdom I’ve heard in a wedding speech. They recognized that essentially one of them was a panda bear and one of them was a koala. They found their spirit animals (hence the cake topper!) and shared what that meant with each other. When times of disagreement or misunderstanding arise, they remind each other of who they essentially “are” and try to understand it from each other’s perspective. Nick and I do something similar except the neurospicy people in our household are “wizards” and the neurotypical people are “muggles”. I honestly can’t even recall a heated disagreement in the last year since we’ve started doing that. So many conversations are stopped short with a, “Wait, is this a muggle thing? Ohhh, okay. I don’t get it, but I respect that.” Or vice versa. So when this couple shared that bit of relationship wisdom, I absolutely loved it. These two are so sweet and caring, thoughtful and wise, and in love. I truly wish them all the best as they head back across the world after their “destination wedding” in Canada <3.
