I first met Kimberly and Matt at a wedding show back in 2017, and did their engagement photos for them in the Fall of that year. Their wedding was a ton of fun to shoot two weekends ago with me leading the photography team and my husband leading the videography. I have so many favourites it was hard to narrow down to just a few (or maybe more than a few!) to share on here.
But first I have to tell you there is such a sweet story behind the sunflowers that you see throughout her wedding that I didn’t even know about until afterwards. The bride’s grandfather was her best friend, but passed away years ago so he couldn’t be at her wedding, and sunflowers were his favourite flower. So they are a little piece of him being present there with her throughout the day. Stories like THIS are what make my heart swell as a photographer. It’s my job to make sure no details are missed whether or not I know the stories behind them, but when I get to hear about the meaning and the narrative that goes into each one, it brings it alive. Photos are not just what happens on a day. They are 1000 words wrapped into a single image. They are history, legacy, and story, and I feel honoured each time I’m asked to carry this responsibility for someone’s special day <3. Thank you Kim and Matt for letting us do this for you, and a huge congratulations from us to you!
