I have had the pleasure of doing annual photos for these guys for the past few years and it’s been so fun to see their little family grow. The kids each brought “someone special” along to their shoot as well. I love incorporating memories like this <3. Even looking back at my own family photos, my son’s special teddy bear makes it into one every so often and I’m watching him “age” with all the love he’s been receiving. Family photography is more than just documenting “this is what our kids’ faces looked like at this age”. It’s more than stand nice, behave, and smile. It’s about capturing who they ARE and who you are at that stage of life. The over-loved teddies, the games that will only be fun for so long (like ring-around-the-rosy), the arm chub that barely reaches around your neck for a hug. All these things matter and deserve to be remembered, and this family is doing just that <3.
