I think every photographer has an “ideal client”, or if they don’t, then I think they should because it tells you who you are as an artist and what you love to capture.  THIS family would be mine for so many reasons.  First, this mama has a heart for motherhood that mirrors my own.  I know some people view the early years as things to be survived, but they’re so much more than that to me, and to her.  I won’t go into it here, but I come from a background of extreme brokenness that gives me a passion for motherhood like I never dreamed.  I see this passion in her also and it inspires me.

That is just the start of why I loved shooting her little family so much.  I mean, for starters she has 2 boys and a girl and that’s pretty perfect in my books ;).  I kid!  Mostly…. But honestly, someone who values moments over poses, interaction over stiffness, and real life over Photoshop is someone who makes my heart sing.  That being said, Photoshop definitely has it’s place.  Like for example when you shoot a whole series of the kids playing and then notice days later that their dog was pooping in the background of it!!

But more than that, this mama and I have become friends and there is nothing more important in life than the relationships you forge.  Some are for a reason, some are for a season, and some are for a lifetime, but they all have value <3.  Anyway, that’s enough of my rambling here (and plus, I’m on a tight baby nap schedule and my online time is limited), so without further ado, here are some of my favourites from this mama’s gorgeous little family!
