This family is a little bit amazing. If I had to describe them in one word it would be “authentic”. Like TRULY authentic. Not the kind of “hey look at how real life I am and be amazed” authentic that prevails current blog culture. These people are who they truly are, unashamedly, and don’t live for an audience. Totally honest moment? I wish I was as comfortable in my own skin as them. They are an inspiration.
I was thrilled and a little bit nervous to do their family photos for them because they are both amazing artists in their own right. They didn’t want traditional family photos. They didn’t even want candid photos in a pretty location with a perfect backdrop all planned out. They wanted photos that were REAL. From the crazy energy kids have, to toddler melt downs, to silliness, to loose teeth, and to hugs and kisses given freely with the abandon that only children can. They also wanted to capture a family tradition of theirs – walking down to the river. So we started off in their home with cookies handed out on the back porch, and then journeyed at their own pace through their town over to the river playing, running, and kissing boo-boos as we went. So without further ado, here’s a little sample from this family’s documentary styled shoot <3
